Slate breaker: FD NBA DFS 11/1

Guards

Play of the Day: Davion Mitchell, Kings (@ Warriors)

Mitchell is going to be very chalky on this slate. But you are going to need him if you want to keep pace with everyone else. Mitchell is no De'Aaron Fox but he is no schlub. He will step into the Fox role and will not be counted on to take as many shots, but will try to replicate Fox's production in all other categories. Mitchell has succeeded as Fox's replacement scoring 25+ FD points in 3 of his last 4 games starting in place of Fox.

Top Shelf ($8K+)

LaMelo Ball, Hornets (@ Rockets)

The more Ball struggles the better it is for DFS players. Ball's mediocre play has led to a big drop in his price and now he is too good a value to pass up. Ball averaged 44.8 FD points per game last season so he should be able to hit 5X value in this one, but it is his explosive upside that truly intrigues me. Ball is one of the few players who have 60+ potential so he can easily be a tournament winner especially at this price.

Paul George, Clippers (@ Lakers)

Paul George saw a drop in price likely resulting from the James Harden acquisition, but Harden is not playing in this game making George a great value. George has been wildly consistent this season scoring 40+ FD points in every game this year so he looks like he has a strong enough floor to be a very safe play. Play George with confidence in what may be his last game as the number 1 option in this Clipper offense.

Mid Range ($6K-8K)

Fred VanVleet, Rockets (vs Hornets)

I am not quite sure what to make of this Rockets offense. It does not seem if the Rockets even know what is going on with this offense. VanVleet is obviously the best offensive player on the Rockets, but it seems like the game planning has relegated him to a secondary or tertiary option. He has scored less than 25 FD points in 2 of his 3 games with the Rockets, but if he is given the keys to this offense, he should be able to easily pass 40 FD points. VanVleet is a big risk due to the uncertain role he is playing with the Rockets, but if he hits, you will be very happy.

D'Angelo Russell, Lakers (vs Clippers)

The Lakers seem to consolidate their offense further and further and Russell and Anthony Davis have been the big winners from this approach. Russell continues to be one of the Lakers' top playmakers and a secondary scoring option which has led to steady fantasy production. Russell has scored 30+ FD points in 3 straight games so he is a fairly safe bet at his price.

Clearance Shelf (Under $6K)

Malik Monk & Kevin Huerter, Kings (@ Warriors)

There is A LOT of value to be utilized from the Kings as their prices still need to stabilize following Fox's injury. Both of these guys will be asked to shoot a lot more and both are competent shooters so increased usage will naturally lead to more production. With both $5K or less, any increase in production will cause a huge bump in their value so play either of these guys with confidence. I do like Huerter more than Monk because he is a more complete player while Monk is mostly reliant on his scoring for fantasy production.

Lonnie Walker, Nets (@ Heat)

With Spencer Dinwiddie likely out, Walker is a crazy value as he might be thrown into a starting role. Regardless of whether he is starting or not, Walker should end up as the 3rd highest used player on offense behind Cam Thomas and Mikal Bridges. At just $4,600, Walker is basically a guarantee to hit 5X value and I like his chances of topping 30 FD points.

Forwards

Play of the Day: Keegan Murray, Kings (@ Warriors)

Like I have been saying, there is a lot of value up grabs with the pricing imbalance of Kings players. Murray will be a big benefactor on the offensive side. He was already playing a significant role on this offense, scoring at least 15 points in every game this year. Now that he is likely moving up the pecking order to be the team's second option on offense expect an explosive game from Murray. With Trey Lyles still out, Murray will remain an active rebounder further rounding out his fantasy production and solidifying his status as a smash play.

Top Shelf ($8K+)

Anthony Davis, Lakers (vs Clippers)

Anthony Davis has been too good to ignore. He has 25+ points and 12+ rebounds in three straight games and he continues to play elite defense with 3 blocks in every game during that same span. Davis's success has led to a rise in his price. but he still scored 63 or more FD points in 3 straight games so as long as he remains the Lakers top scoring option and plays elite defense, he is worth his steep price.

Evan Mobley, Cavs (@ Knicks)

As long as Jarrett Allen remains out, Mobley warrants fantasy consideration regardless of price. With Allen in the lineup, Mobley is a solid scorer and defender, but with Allen out, he becomes a great rebounder. He has failed to consistently put together every aspect of his game this year, but when he does his fantasy production is explosive. Mobley's upside was seen when the Cavs played the Pacers last week where Mobley blew up for 61.3 FD points. That kind of upside simply cannot be ignored.

Mid Range ($6K-8K)

John Collins, Jazz (vs Grizzlies)

Collins is almost becoming a must play for me. He continues to be a stellar rebounder securing at least 9 in every game. Collins has been underperforming as a scorer and defender, but he still has scored more than 30 FD points in 3 of his 4 games this season. With the ability to step up his game even more, Collins is a safe pick with great upside.

Kyle Kuzma, Wizards (@ Hawks)

I keep wanting to trust Kuzma, but he keeps failing to deliver. He is one of the top scorers on this team and reliable rebounder and defender so he should be able to hit the 5X mark and score 37 FD points. Daniel Gafford is still dealing with injuries so there should be extra rebounds for Kuzma to grab to boost his score. Kuzma's lackluster play is worrying, but he should deliver solid value sooner rather than later because he plays such a big role for the Wizards.

Clearance Shelf (Under $6K)

Dorian Finney-Smith & Royce O'Neale, Nets (@ Heat)

With Spencer Dinwiddie and Nic Claxton out, there is a lot of production up for grabs. Both of these guys benefit from Claxton's absence as they will both grab a couple more boards with O'Neale being the bigger benefactor. With Dinwiddie out, DFS will see a big jump in offensive production so with very little production needed to hit 5X value, DFS looks like a steal at just $5,200.

Brandon Miller, Hornets (@ Rockets)

Miller has immediately made his presence felt on the Hornets. He is already a significant part of this rotation playing 33 and 36 minutes in his last 2 games respectively. Miller is a solid scorer and decent rebounder which are all the tools he needs to hit value. He has produced 5X value at this price in each of his last two games.

Centers

Play of the Day: Domantas Sabonis, Kings (@ Warriors)

Yep, all three of my Play of the Days are Kings. They are the team to stack on this slate with so much value to be had. Sabonis has already produced 49.9 or more FD points in 2 of 3 games so with more offensive usage in store, he should crush value. Sabonis has real triple double potential in this one so make sure you have him in a ton of lineups.

Top Shelf ($8K+)

Alperen Sengun, Rockets (vs Hornets)

Sengun has been a bit soft on the defensive side of the ball and when going for boards, but his scoring has still been stellar averaging more than 19 points per game this season. Sengun's defense and rebounding should get a big boost in an matchup against the Hornets. The Hornets play fast and struggle to rebound which should lead to more counting stats all around but a big boost in rebounds. Sengun looks like a very safe play in this matchup.

Mid Range ($6K-8K)

Mitchell Robinson, Kicks (vs Cavs)

Mitch warrants consideration on his defense and rebounding alone. He is great at both, securing 13 or more boards and at least 2 blocks in 2 of his last 3 games. He did disappoint a bit against the Cavs, but they will still be without Jarrett Allen so Robinson should find some success.

Clearance Shelf (Under $6K)

Dario Saric, Warriors (vs Kings)

Saric continues to play a significant role off the Warrior bench. He has at least 7 rebounds and a block in 3 of his 4 games this season, which may not seem like a lot, but for a player priced just $4,200, he does not need to do much to deliver value. Saric did struggle against the Kings last time they played, but that was due to foul trouble. Expect Saric to easily pass 20 FD points and return solid value.
