Slate Breaker: FD CFB DFS Week 13 (Sat)

Quarterbacks

Play of the Day: Jayden Daniels, LSU (vs Texas A&M)

How can Daniels not be the Play of the Day at this point. It does not matter how expensive he gets, he is worth every penny. The guy is coming off of back to back 60+ FD point games and has only scored less than 30 FDPs twice all year. Daniels is basically a free square at this point. He may not get you first in a tournament because of how chalky he is, but he will definitely win you some money.

Jalen Milroe, Alabama (@ Auburn)

Milroe has been on an absolute heater. He has 10 TDs over his last 2 SEC games with 7 of those coming on the ground. Alabama is really starting to find its flow as a run heavy offense with Milroe leading the way. Milroe has multiple TDs in every game but one this year and has multiple rushing TDs in 40% of his games. Jayden Daniels obviously has the highest floor on this slate, but Milroe is a clear second so rock with Daniels and Milroe is you are just trying to cash.

Donovan Smith, Houston (@ UCF)

Normally, I would start any RB facing UCF because they just cannot stop the run, but Houston does not have a true lead back who can carry the load and deliver a solid line against this weak UCF defense. A big reason why they do not have a true lead back is because of the presence of Donovan Smith. Smith is a real running QB with 60+ rushing yards in 3 straight games. His passing abilities does leave a lot to be desired, but his running production will be solid so even if he delivers modest or lackluster passing totals, he will be able to provide solid fantasy numbers with his rushing numbers alone. Smith is a a strong floor play, but if he has a strong passing day he could end up as an elite option in the regular season finale.

Carson Beck, Georgia (@ Georgia Tech)

If you just want to lock in 20 FDPs at a modest price then throw Beck into your lineups. Beck has scored between 17-25 FDPs in 5 straight games so the ceiling is not crazy high but the floor is very strong. Georgia should easily demolish Georgia Tech so he definitely will not have a ceiling game this week but the floor he provides at price under $10K could be a valuable tool if you want to spend up elsewhere.

Noah Fifita, Arizona (@ Arizona State)

How is this guy still under $9K? He has almost single handedly brought this program back to national relevance and is yet to have a bad game as a starter. Now he plays one of the PAC 12 basement dwellers so him and this Arizona offense should dominate this game. Fifita does not have elite upside, but the consistency he provides at a price of $8,700 is a tremendous value.

Spencer Rattler, South Carolina (vs Clemson)

Clemson is a scary defense, but Rattler is too good of a QB to be $7,500. South Carolina does not have a real running game so their only hope on offense is Rattler. He is the type of QB that matches the level of play of his opponents, showing out against tough defenses and looking like a shell of himself when he overlooks an opponent. Rattler showed out against this Clemson defense last year with 250+ passing yards, multiple passing TDs and a rushing TD which was good enough to surpass the 25+ FDP threshold. I am not saying Rattler will definitely replicate this performance, but if he does he will be one of the top values on the slate given his price. Rattler is a worthwhile gamble this week.

Running Backs

Play of the Day: Ollie Gordon, Oklahoma State (vs BYU)

Gordon is now in Jayden Daniels territory. He is too strong of an option to fade regardless of how expensive he may be. To be honest we are getting Gordon at a bit of a discount at $11.5K. No really, he is discounted. The only reason Gordon is under $12K is because he had a 4.2 FDP game 2 weeks ago, but that lackluster production was a result of an injury to Gordon and a blowout. Gordon is fully healthy so do not worry and besides that subpar game, Gordon has 20+ FDP for basically 2 months straight, but 20 points truly is his floor, his ceiling is much higher. He has had 4 games of 38+ FDP with one of those games being 52.2 FDP so you can see that Gordon's floor and ceiling truly is unmatched at the RB position. A lot of people will be comfortable with paying up for Jayden Daniels which will limit Gordon's exposure so he could be a serious difference maker this week.

RJ Harvey, UCF (vs Houston)

Harvey has been the model of consistency at the RB position this year. He has 100+ total yards in every game this year except that streak was brought to an end last week but he still racked up 92 total yards so you know Harvey will not disappoint you. What is even more encouraging is his redzone usage. Harvey now has 8 TDs over his past 3 games. With great yardage totals and strong scoring production, Harvey is a very strong play that is only projected to be outscored by Ollie Gordon.

Blake Corum, Michigan (vs Ohio State)

If Michigan is going to win this game, it will be on the back of Blake Corum. During Michigan's winning streak in this rivalry, the Michigan RBs have dominated, averaging 259 total yards and 3.5 TDs per game. This Ohio State defense is a different beast than years past, but Corum has as good of a chance as anyone to post 200+ yards and 3 TDs this week so he worth a gamble against this tough Ohio State defensive front because if anyone can break them it is Michigan.

Trey Benson, Florida State (@ Florida)

Florida State got lucky after losing their star QB as they play a Florida team who also just lost their starting QB so FSU should be able to control this game based on the vast talent difference outside of the QB position. Benson and the FSU running game will be the focal point of this offense and Benson will get as much work as he can handle. Florida allows the 3rd most rushing yards per game so you can rest assured that Benson will put up a monster line this week.

Le'Veon Moss, Texas A&M (@ LSU)

LSU has been incredible in almost every facet of the game, but the one area where they have left a lot to be desired in the run defense. LSU is allowing a whopping 170 rushing yards per game. Texas A&M looks like they will be without starting QB Max Johnson which can either mean great or bad things for Moss. Moss may have to face a loaded box every single down if A&M cannot pass the ball effectively, but Moss's usage will truly be elite. Moss seems like a big boom or bust player this week, but if he booms, he will put up some crazy numbers.

Aidan Robbins, BYU (@ Oklahoma State)

In the beginning of the season, Robbins did not look like his normal self. He was a 1,000 yard rusher last year for UNLV, but he failed to rush for 60 yards in a game until last week. Well as it turns out, Robbins was playing through a nagging injury that eventually forced him to sit out a couple of games, but he came back two weeks ago and looked like his old self. He rushed for 182 yards against a tough Oklahoma run defense last week so he should be able to run wild against an Oklahoma State defense that is allowing nearly 176 rushing yards per game. At $5,700, Robbins is the top value on this slate.

Wide Receivers

Play of the Day: Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State (@ Michigan)

Egbuka is going to be vital for OSU this week. In most weeks, Marvin Harrison Jr would be the go to guy in the OSU passing attack; but Egbuka will be the guy as he provides a quick outlet for Kyle McCord as he will be under duress all day against this tough Michigan defense. Egbuka was the guy last year with a 9/125/1 line and the previous slot receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was the go to guy in the 2021 matchup with a 11/127/0 line. Egbuka will put up a strong line this week and is a great value at just $5,800.

Washington WRs; LSU WRs; Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio state; Devontez Walker, North Carolina

These guys should not need much of an explanation. They are the class of college football and are productive each week. I like them all, but I like LSU>Walker>Washington>Harrison in that order. Any of these guys could be tournament winners so they all are worth paying up for.

Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona (@ Arizona State)

As Fifita has taken over as QB for Arizona, his high school teammate's fantasy numbers have taken off. McMillan is an athletic freak towering over the competition at 6'5" while showing great athleticism. Fifita and McMillan have elite chemistry which has resulted in Tetairoa recording 80+ yards in 5 of his last 6 games and a TD in 4 straight. Arizona State does not have a defensive back who can come anywhere close to matching up with McMillan so he should be able to do whatever he wants this week.

Washington State WRs (@ Washington)

Before last week's rainy game against Oregon State, the Washington secondary had been getting torched by opposing WRs. Their opponent's lead WR was averaging 138 yards per game over the previous 3 games before the rainy mess last week. I fully endorse both Lincoln Victor and Josh Kelly as Victor's utilization is crazy especially in the redzone and Kelly has been a chain mover lately. Kyle Williams is also intriguing but he has taken more of a back seat since Victor has returned from injury. I guarantee at least one of these Wazzu WRs will top 20 FDPs.

Samuel Brown, Houston (@ UCF)

Brown is an absolute steal right now. He's had back to back tough matchups against Cincinnati and Oklahoma State which has led his price to dip under $8K, but before those two games he was basically a lock for double digit points. He is the guy in this Houston passing game especially with Mathew Golden out of the lineup so expect heavy usage for Brown against a beatable UCF secondary.

Jermaine Burton, Alabama (@ Auburn)

If you are playing Jalen Milroe, I love stacking him with Burton. It only takes one play to make his day and Bama loves giving him his shots. Burton has only had more than 5 catches in a game once this season, but he still provides solid yardage numbers with 60+ yards in 5 of his last 6 games. Burton's floor may not be the greatest, but he is the most productive guy in the Bama passing game and is very explosive so he is the best stack if you are rolling with Milroe.

Colston Loveland, Michigan (vs Ohio State)

Michigan is going to struggle to pass against this Ohio State pass rush as they likely will not have a lot of time to get the ball to the deep and intermediate routes, but that is where Loveland comes in. He is a short pass and play action weapon and McCarthy loves him. He probably will not put up monster numbers like 100+ yards but he will get 5+ targets and likely 50+ yards with a decent chance for a score so he could be a great value at $5,500.
