Slate Breaker: FD CFB DFS Week 12 (Sat)

Quarterbacks

Play of the Day: John Rhys Plumlee, Central Florida (@ Texas Tech)

Plumlee is running again as he has at least 12 rushes in each of the last 2 games so an elite rushing QB like Plumlee is far too cheap at $10K. Expect Plumlee to at least hit 50 rushing yards with a strong chance of finding the endzone on the ground. He has improved as a passer too with 250+ passing yards and 3 TDs in 2 of his last 3 games. Plumlee should easily score 20+ FD points with a strong chance of topping 30 so he is a great value.

Dillon Gabriel, Oklahoma (@ BYU)

Mans just went ballistic scoring 8 total TDs and almost hitting 60 FD points. He has tournament winning potential and with no Jayden Daniels on this slate he also features the highest floor as he should easily score 25 FD points with 40 point upside. Gabriel is 9th in the nation in passing TDs and is averaging more than 1 rushing TD per game so you can see why he has such a strong floor.

Bo Nix, Oregon (@ Arizona State)

If you want someone who will consistently score 25 FD points then Nix is your guy. 23.28 FD points is the fewest points he has scored all season so there is no way he will leave you disappointed. He does lack elite upside since he only has 3 games over 30 FD points. I do not expect this to be a ceiling game for Nix since he will not have to play at a high level to beat this Arizona State team. If you feel confident about the rest of your lineup then Nix is a great way to round out the rest of your lineup with a consistent point provider.

Drake Maye, North Carolina (@ Clemson)

I have to be honest, this matchup does scare me a lot. While the Clemson offense has taken a step back this year, they are still an elite unit on defense. Drake Maye is just too good though and he has to succeed even in these tough matchups. He had a great game against a strong Duke defense last week scoring 32.88 FD points so I doubt he will leave you disappointed even in this tough matchup. Maye is going to want to show out too after getting embarrassed in last year's ACC championship game. Maye is a lock for 20+ FD points but expect him to have a strong game as he will need to put the team on his back to beat this Clemson defense.

DJ Uiagalelei, Oregon State (vs Washington)

Washington has been bad in recent weeks as they have struggled to contain PAC 12 QBs. They have allowed opposing QBs to score 20+ FD points in 6 of their last 7 games. Uiagalelei comes in as a middling fantasy QB in a run-first offense, but he will have to do a lot of passing to keep pace with Washington this week. Uigalelei has a strong upside with multiple 30+ FD points this year. Expect a strong day from DJ this week.

Spencer Rattler, South Carolina (vs Kentucky)

When is Rattler going to be priced correctly? He has been too good to still be priced $8,200. He has scored 27+ FD points in half of his games this year. Kentucky is beatable through the air so Rattler should not struggle too much. Rattler is a bit hit or miss, but when he hits, he is consistently one of the top values of those slates so Rattler is a very worthy gamble.

Running Backs

Play of the Day: Tahj Brooks, Texas Tech (vs UCF)

I picked Ollie Gordon against this UCF defense last week and it was a straight bust, but that was largely due to an injury and a freak blowout. I do not think UCF has fixed their nonexistent run defense in just a week. UCF has given multiple career days to opposing RBs this year so just about any RB is a good play against them. Tahj Brooks is not just any back though. He is the 2nd best back in the conference behind Gordon as he has rushed for at least 98 yards in 8 straight games with a TD in 6 straight. You can already pencil in 20+ FD points for Brooks with potential to even double that number. I cannot recommend any player more than Brooks on this slate.

Cody Schrader, Missouri (vs Florida)

Schrader has been one of the best backs in the nation over the past month plus. He has been averaging an absurd 28.1 FD points over his last 5 games. He is a weapon as both a runner and a pass catcher with 100+ receiving yards his last time out. Schrader's price has gone up as a result of this stretch of elite production, but he should still be well worth his increased price as he plays a weak Florida defensive front who has been getting diced up on the ground regardless of opponent.

Blake Corum, Michigan (@ Maryland)

If the Jim Harbaugh suspension has done one thing, it has increased Corum's fantasy value. Without the top guy at the helm, Michigan did simplify their offense a bit which meant a lot more work for Corum. Corum came out of last week's game with a season high 26 carries. The increase in production is likely a result of Penn State's strong defense, but I do not expect Michigan to mess around too much on offense with so much on the line so expect them to just hand the ball off to their best player a lot over the next 2 weeks.

Carson Steele, UCLA (@ USC)

Ok I should not even need to explain this by now, we should all know the rule. Start whichever lead back is facing USC. For those of you worried that USC's problems may have been fixed when they fired their DC, don't worry Bucky Irving easily put 24.6 FD points against them last week. Steele is a TD machine so expect him to combine that TD production with solid yardage this week. EZ PLAY.

Cam Skattebo, Arizona State (vs Oregon)

This Arizona State just does not have a lot of weapons outside of Skattebo so no matter what kind of game situation they find themselves in, Skettebo will be getting the ball. He is a decent rusher and a great receiver out of the backfield, but most importantly, he is going to get the ball if Arizona finds their way to Oregon's goal line. Skattebo has been wildly productive all year scoring 13.5+ FD points in 6 of his 8 games this year so expect decent production from him in this tough matchup.

Gavin Sawchuk, Oklahoma (@ BYU)

How is Oklahoma's lead back $6,100? Sawchuk looks in full control of Oklahoma's backfield after handling a season high 22 carries last week so as the team's lead back in a game that should see Oklahoma up by multiple scores for the vast majority of the game, expect a heavy dosage of the young back. Sawchuk has been productive with 100+ yard games in back to back weeks and I like his chances of extending that streak.

Wide Receivers

Play of the Day: Devontez Walker, North Carolina (@ Clemson)

Walker is just too good. He has 130+ yards in 3 of his last 4 FBS games and the one game he missed the mark, he still posted a respectable 76 yards. Walker is clearly UNC's top skill player so expect them to rely on him even more when they play a tough Clemson defense this week. Expect Walker to easily pass 20 FD points.

Washington WRs (@ Oregon State)

You need some exposure to Rome Odunze or Ja'Lynn Polk every week. This is the top passing attack in the country with nearly 400 passing yards to go around each game so you know these guys are going to absorb a lot of production every time out. If I am paying over $9K, I am going for the security that these WRs bring and I like Polk the most out of the 2.

Oklahoma WRs (@ BYU)

This is mostly about Drake Stoops as he has been an absolute monster recently totaling 10+ catches and 120+ yards and scoring 4 TDs over the past 2 weeks. Dillon and this Oklahoma offense feel very comfortable honing in on Stoops out of the slot since it is usually a fairly safe throw and Stoops is good with the ball in space. Stoops is absolutely worth paying up for. Nic Anderson continues to hold value in this offense as well. Besides a bad weather game, Anderson has been great over the past month recording 90+ yards in each game. Anderson is a big play machine and does not need a ton of work to deliver solid value. Both of these guys are great plays this week, but I like Anderson more at a relative discount.

Logan Loya, UCLA (@ USC)

Loya has taken over the WR1 role for UCLA. While the UCLA QB play has been a bit iffy lately, which has held back Loya's fantasy production; a matchup against USC should lead to a strong day for Loya. USC has allowed 4 pass catchers to score 15+ FD points over the past 3 weeks so Loya should be able to produce this week. The weak QB does limit his upside, but his floor is very strong this week.

Javon Baker, Central Florida (@ Texas Tech)

Another game and another week of Javon Baker production. Baker and John Rhys Plumlee have shown advanced chemistry this season and it has resulted in Baker racking up 85 or more yards in 5 of his last 6 games so expect Baker to continue to produce. I still cannot believe this guy is under $7K and he is almost a must play for me and I will have a ton of exposure to him.

Squirrel White, Tennessee (vs Georgia)

Tennessee has unexpectedly been a run first offense this year, but that is not a formula to compete against Georgia. Squirrel White will have to be relied upon this week if Tennessee wants any chance of hanging with Georgia. An already hurting Tennessee WR room was dealt another serious injury last week so expect even more work for White as the targets get even more consolidated. White is a great play based on usage alone.

Ben Sinnott, Kansas State (@ Kansas)

After a couple weeks of inconsistent QB play, the Kansas State offense has gotten back on track over the past couple of weeks and that has happened as a result of their reliance upon Sinnott. He is obviously one of QB Will Howard's top targets and is basically a lock to reach 60 receiving yards while being a big redzone targets. Sinott range of outcomes is 9-18 FD points which is great production for someone priced just over $6K.

Barion Brown, Kentucky (@ South Carolina)

There is a lot to like in Brown this week. He is Kentucky's obvious top target since he has gotten the most targets in 7 of their 10 games so far and he plays a South Carolina defense that is bottom 10 in the nation against the pass. With elite usage in a strong matchup, Brown's $5,500 price may make him the top value on this slate.
