Slate Breaker: FD CFB DFS Week 11 (Sat)
Quarterbacks
Play of the Day: John Rhys Plumlee, Central Florida (vs Oklahoma State)
Plumlee looks to be running again and he is too cheap when you factor in his rushing ability. He is an elite rusher so to be able to get him in your lineup for a little more than $9K is an absolute steal. Every legitimate dual threat QB that Oklahoma State has faced this year has totaled 100+ rushing yards so when paired with his decent passing abilities, Plumlee is a must play.
Jayden Daniels, LSU (vs Florida)
Daniels remains questionable as we head towards the weekend, but it is looking more and more likely that he will be cleared to play this week. If Daniels plays, you need him in your lineup. He went absolutely nuclear when he faced Florida last year passing for 3 TDs and adding another 3 TDs on the ground which led to a tournament winning 45+ FD points. At this point in the season, you should not need to be told to start Daniels, but he is in line for the best game of his incredible season if he suits up this week. If Daniels ends up missing, backup QB Garrett Nussmeier is a fantastic play as he is cheap and will be propped up by one of the best receiving corps in the nation.
Drake Maye, UNC (vs Duke)
Drake Maye just cannot be under $11K right now. He is the hottest QB in the country and has been delivering elite fantasy production for months now. He has scored at least 25+ FD points in 6 straight games so his floor is as good as any QB on this slate. The Duke defense is a good unit, but they are no match for a QB like Maye with Maye nearly scoring 35 FD points in this same matchup last year. The only thing that can hold Maye back is the blowout potential of this game. Duke's QB situation is very shaky so this game could be over at the half, but the Duke defense is very good against the run so Maye should get enough work in the 1st half alone to deliver excellent value.
Arizona QBs (@ Colorado)
I am not sure who the starting QB for Arizona will be this week and it likely will not be known until just before kickoff, but whoever plays QB for them is going to have a game. This Colorado defense is not able to stop anyone and are extremely vulnerable to QBs. They have allowed their opponent's QB to score 20+ FD points in 7 straight games and in 8 of their last 9 games. Whoever starts for Arizona needs to be in your lineup this week.
Garrett Greene, West Virginia (@ Oklahoma)
Greene is too prolific of a runner to fade at this point. He has produced 11+ FD points with his rushing alone in 4 of his last 5 games. He is a near lock to rush for 50+ yards and a score so when you add in his competent passing abilities, he is a terrific fantasy producer. Oklahoma is a tough opponent, but Oklahoma will put points up so Greene will have to keep his foot on the gas in order to keep pace with Oklahoma. Greene is a terrific value even with a tough matchup.
Brady Cook, Missouri (vs Tennessee)
It is crazy that Cook is under $10K. He has been terrific all year, scoring 20+ FD points in every game except for last week when he faced an elite Georgia defense. It is safe to assume that when Cook is not playing Georgia he has a 20 point floor. Tennessee will be able to score some points so Cook will be productive until the very last whistle.
Running Backs
Play of the Day: Ollie Gordon, Oklahoma State (@ UCF)
I do not care how expensive he is. I do not care how chalky he is. I do not care that he will likely be the most expensive player in my lineup. Gordon is simply a must start in this game. He has been insanely productive since taking over as the lead back scoring 20+ in every game with 3 games over 40. UCF is the worst run defense in the country so another 40+ point game is a definite possibility. You are basically getting QB production in your RB slot and with a smash spot like this, get ready for another crooked number for Gordon. MUST PLAY
Jonathon Brooks, Texas (@ TCU)
You have to keep riding the Brooks train until Ewers is back to full strength. Maalik Murphy has been a solid replacement for Quinn Ewers, but it has been Brooks who has been carrying this Texas offense. He has 15+ FD points in every game with 30+ point upside. Besides Ollie Gordon, no one else on this slate will get as much work as Brooks and he is utilized as both a runner and receiver so he really cannot disappoint you with such diverse production.
Blake Corum, Michigan (@ Penn State)
Michigan will have their first game of the season where it might actually be competitive which will only mean great things for Corum's fantasy prospects. You can even get Corum at a discount since his price was reduced due to Penn State's stellar run defense. I am not scared of the Penn State defense though, because Corum will still eat. The Michigan rushing attack wreaked havoc on this Penn State defense with Corum rushing for 166 yards and 2 TDs and backfield mate Donovan Edwards also rushing for 173 yards and 2 TDs. Corum could easily end up as the top value on this slate.
Ray Davis, Kentucky (vs Alabama)
You should not be able to get one of the best backs in the country for just $8,200 even if they are playing Alabama. Davis is coming off of his first disappointing game of the season so that may explain the price dip but this price will not last long so you need to take advantage of it while you can. Davis was productive against a tough Georgia defense, scoring 16.5 FD points so expect another 15+ point performance for Davis this week.
Clemson RBs (vs Georgia Tech)
I think Will Shipley is back this week which may make him the top value of the slate. Georgia Tech is horrible against the run. They are almost as bad as UCF, yep they are that bad. Whoever is Clemson's lead back this week will have a great game, but if it is a $7,000 Will Shipley, he will be a huge difference maker. Pay attention to the injury report before kickoff because there is some serious value to be taken advantage of here.
Florida RBs (@ LSU)
LSU is a great team, but their one weakness is their run defense. The LSU run defense just cannot match up against most SEC O lines which leads to huge holes for their opponent's RBs to take advantage of. Florida has two great RBs, but it is tough to separate them as they are both heavily involved in this offense so they do cannibalize each other a bit. One of the Florida backs will have a great game this week, but picking between the two is a bit of a gamble.
Wide Receivers
Play of the Day: Ladd McConkey, Georgia (vs Ole Miss)
If you have read my recent Slate Breakers then you should have already known McConkey would be here. He continues to play a bigger and bigger role in this offense and he is still just too cheap. He is the top pass catcher for Georgia which is an incredibly valuable role for fantasy purposes. He needs to be priced $8K so you are getting him for a terrific discount. There are rumblings that Brock Bowers may be back this week, but there is no way he would be back to his usual role so McConkey will still be the guy in this passing game until Bowers gets up to full speed.
Malik Nabers, LSU (vs Florida); Devontez Walker, UNC (vs Duke) & Ja'Lynn Polk, Washington (vs Utah)
I love all these expensive guys. They are all in prolific passing attacks and while they may be joined by some other solid WRs on their teams, they have been the top receivers for their team putting up big game after big game. You cannot go wrong with these guys as their only real downside is their high prices. I like them in the order of Nabers, Polk, Walker, but you really cannot go wrong with any of them.
Arizona WRs (@ Colorado)
Tetairoa McMillan and Jacob Cowing have been absolute studs. They both have produced 10+ FD points in 5 straight games, but that seems to be their floors and this will not be a floor game for the pair. Colorado continues to get roasted through the air week after week so an elite pair of receivers like these are in line for the best games of their already prolific seasons. I wish I had more clarity on the QB situation because if Fifita remains the starter I would be even more bullish on this pair, but they will still be productive even if de Laura is the QB.
Theo Wease Jr., Missouri (vs Tennessee)
It feels sacrilegious to have Wease in this column over my guy Luther Burden, but Burden just is not fully healthy. With Burden banged up, Wease has a huge opportunity ahead of him. He is no Luther Burden, but he is a talented receiver in his own right. Missouri is going to pass a lot regardless of who is available at WR so with Wease stepping into an ultra valuable role, Wease is a smash play. He just put up 90 yards against a talented Georgia defense so imagine what he can do against Tennessee.
Nic Anderson, Oklahoma (vs West Virginia)
Anderson has been underperforming a bit lately, but he still got 92 yards last week. Anderson has not stepped into the WR1 role like many expected following Andrell Anthony's injury, it is Drake Stoops who has seen the most work (Stoops is also a great play). Anderson's lack of involvement has more so been due to some tough matchups playing Kansas is inclement weather and a tough Oklahoma State secondary which has led to some down games for Dillon Gabriel and therefore Anderson. Gabriel should bounce back this week and if he does, Anderson will also have bounced back. Anderson had 8 TDs over a 5 week stretch so it is only a matter of time until he finds the endzone again.
Javon Baker, Central Florida (vs Oklahoma State)
Baker is $6,400??? Baker has been the top receiver in this offense all year long. He has 85+ yards in 4 of his last 5 games and the one game he missed the mark he scored a TD and still ended up with 10+ FD points. UCF will struggle to run against Oklahoma State so expect even more usage for Baker this week. I just do not see how Baker does not provide terrific value at this insanely low price,
Jermaine Burton, Alabama (@ Kentucky)
Burton did not need a lot of work last week because of the success that Alabama had on the ground, but when Alabama has needed him recently he has been good. He had 60+ yards in 4 straight games before last week and his big play abilities gives him elite upside. Kentucky is good against the run, but beatable through the air so expect Burton to be relied upon again this week and return decent value.
Ja'Khi Douglas, Florida State (vs Miami)
This play is entirely dependent on the availability of Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson, but if they are both out, Douglas instantly becomes the Play of the Day and the top value on the slate. While operating as the WR1 for FSU last week, Douglas racked up 115 yards so to get that kind of production from a player who is just $6,000 is a game changer. Make sure you check the news before kickoff because if both of the top guys are out and Douglas is not in your lineup, you will be left behind.
