Slate Breaker: FD CFB DFS Week 11 (Fri)
Sorry for the poor formatting I am out of town and having computer problems.
North Texas vs SMU
If you are looking at this matchup there is one thing you cannot miss. You need to start RBs against this North Texas defense. They simply cannot stop the run and have allowed 14+ FD points to every lead back they have faced this year including a matchup against a FCS team. Unfortunately things just cannot be simple as there is no true lead back for SMU. The spread out the work between 3-4 backs every game. If I were to pick who would lead this backfield this week it would be LJ Johnson or Jaylan Knighton but I think Johnson is the back with the most juice at the moment. The SMU passing game is a bit harder to predict because if SMU is able to successfully run the ball the whole game then that is what they will do so Preston Stone could be obsolete this week with a nonexistent North Texas run defense, but Stone can also run so he is not a complete fade. The usage of the SMU receivers is very inconsistent so no of them are more than a gamble with the lead receiver role seemingly rotating every week. For North Texas, Chandler Rogers and Jay Maclin are just starts since they have some of the best QB-WR chemistry in the entire conference. The rest of this North Texas offense will struggle to succeed against this conference best SMU defense so they are all very risky plays although the RBs are fairly consistent producers.
Wyoming vs UNLV
You cannot look at this game without becoming infatuated with Harrison Waylee. After dealing with injuries for a couple weeks, Waylee returned to full strength and a full workload handling 28 totes which he converted into 128 rushing yards. Waylee is used more than any back on this slate so his usage alone makes him a must play. Wyoming is not a very prolific defense so no one else besides Waylee can be relied on for consistent production, but there still is some good upside here. QB Andrew Peasley is not a great pure passer, but he makes up for his deficiencies with his rushing ability so if he can find the endzone with both his feet and arm he will be a great play on this limited slate but that is nowhere close to a guarantee. All the Wyoming WRs are just a crapshoot so good luck if you choose to utilize them. UNLV has been a surprisingly solid offense this year thanks to new QB Jayden Maiava but this week is likely a test they are not ready for as the play a great Wyoming defense. I still like Maiava and top receiver Ricky White as plays since they have been such prolific producers lately but I do not want any part of the rest of this UNLV offense.
