Slate Breaker: FD CFB DFS Week 10 (Sat)

Quarterbacks

Play of the Day: Jayden Daniels, LSU (@ Alabama)

Jayden Daniels under $12K??? Sign me up. The name Alabama is scary on paper, but this is not the same Alabama defense of years past. Yes they are still a good unit, but it is no longer a Alabama team that has a future first round pick at basically every position. And Jayden Daniels is essentially matchup proof. This LSU offense is the best in the nation so they can be limited, but they cannot be stopped. They have an elite pair of receivers and a QB that can make any throw and escape from the worst of situations. Jayden Daniels beat Alabama last year with a lesser offense against a better Bama defense and he did it in style. He passed for 2 TDs and rushed for 95 yards and another TD resulting in a monster 32.78 point game. Expect only better things from Daniels this year, you need him in your lineup.

Caleb Williams, USC (vs Washington)

Williams got back on the horse last week with a monster game in a last minute win over Cal. This USC team is not good, but Williams is and he is willing to do whatever is needed to will his team to a win. And he will have every opportunity to do so against a Washington defense that has been struggling lately. Washington allowed a subpar Stanford offense to hang around last week and allowed a career game to their QB Ashton Daniels who had a monster game as both a runner and passer so Williams should thrive in this matchup.

Michael Penix Jr., Washington (@ USC)

Penix vs this horrible USC defense is a dream matchup. USC has allowed 4 of the last 5 QBs they have faced to score more than 30 FD points and none of those QBs have been anywhere close to Penix's caliber. I expect Penix to blow past the 30 point threshold with a strong possibility of a career day. Washington needs to make a statement game to launch themselves in playoff position so expect Penix to being playing full throttle until the very last second.

John Rhys Plumlee, UCF (@ Cincinnati)

Plumlee started running again last week which only means great things for fantasy players. He is an elite runner and can break a 60 yard rushing TD at any moment and his price just does not properly reflect his fantasy upside. At just $10,000, Plumlee is an insane value. He has scored at least 3 TDs in each game since returning from injury so as he runs more and more, his production is about to skyrocket. There are a lot of valuable QBs on this slate, but Plumlee may offer the highest value at this price.

Carson Beck, Georgia (vs Missouri)

Carson Beck looks like he is finally settling into this offense and is hitting his stride. He has passed for 300+ passing yards and scored multiple TDs in 4 of his last 5 games and his involvement in this offense is only increasing by the week. Missouri is a team that can score some points even against a defense of Georgia's caliber so Beck may have to take on even more responsibility if this game ends up competitive.

Running Backs

Play of the Day: Corey Kiner, Cincinnati (vs UCF)

A lead back against this nonexistent UCF run defense?? For just $7,300??? Kiner has been one of the best plays I have seen in weeks. It does not matter who is facing UCF, they are going to run for at least 100 yards and a TD. UCF has allowed the 5th most rushing yards per game in the nation and have allowed 21 rushing TDs over their past 6 games. Kiner has been the top back in this offense all year long so his usage will lead to a monster day.

Jonathon Brooks, Texas (vs Kansas State)

As long as Quinn Ewers is out, Brooks is a great play. He has needed to take on more work in the passing game to provide a safety blanket for the young QB. He has 17 catches over his last 3 games so adding that kind of usage to his steady rushing production makes him one of the best fantasy options in the nation regardless of opponent.

Quinshon Judkins, Mississippi (vs Texas A&M)

After dealing with injuries to start the season, Judkins has finally looked healthy and is back to his old ways. He has scored 6 TDs over his last 4 games and rushed for more than 120 yards in 3 of those games and this production is nothing new. He scored 18 or more FD points in all but one of his conference games a year ago so his floor is very safe. He has reestablished himself as one of the top backs in the nation so you should feel confident playing him every single week.

Dillon Johnson, Washington (@ USC)

You should already know the rule by now, but if a RB is playing USC you have to play him. I have no idea how the USC run defense can be this bad, something has gone catastrophically wrong. Cal was the latest team to run all over the field against this defense. Cal RB Jaydn Ott ran for 153 yards and 3 TDs just adding to the long list of career games the USC defense has allowed this season. Now Washington does pass a lot, but Johnson should still get solid work with 18 or more opportunities in 3 of their last 4 games. That kind of usage will lead to a solid fantasy day against this weak USC defense.

Rashod Dubinion, Arkansas (@ Florida)

Dubinion and this Arkansas offense have not been consistent producers, but this week features a matchup that makes Dubinion worth the gamble. Arkansas is playing a Florida defense that has been crumbling on the interior in recent weeks. Florida has not just been bad, but they have been horrible allowing 19+ FD points to 3 of the last 4 RBs they have faced. Dubinion has struggled this year, but even he will be able to find success against this Florida defensive front.

Wide Receivers

Play of the Day: Ladd McConkey, Georgia (vs Missouri)

McConkey is back atop the Georgia WR hierarchy so he is a great fantasy option just based on that role in the offense, but he is still just $6,500. That is far too cheap for Georgia's top passing option. This Georgia passing game has taken off as Carson Beck has stepped up his game. Georgia's lead receiver has scored at least 17.5 FD points in 5 straight games. McConkey is one of the top values on this slate, he will be a difference maker.

Washington WRs (@ USC)

Rome Odunze and Ja'Lynn Polk are high end fantasy players regardless of matchup with both averaging right around 20 points per game. USC gives up points like no other team so every facet of this Washington offense is an intriguing fantasy option. Even guys like Germie Bernard and Jack Westover are decent plays at their reduced prices. Washington should score more than any other team playing on Saturday so there will be plenty of fantasy production to go around.

LSU WRs (@ Alabama)

WRs Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. are amazing fantasy plays every week. Nabers is the far better option of the 2. He is unguardable so even a talented Alabama secondary will struggle to handle him. Nabers has at least 80 yards in each of his last 7 games and has scored 9 times during that span. Even with a receiver like Rome Odunze on this slate, no one's upside compares to Nabers. Brian Thomas is not quite as involved in this offense as Nabers, but he is still a big play threat so he also carries an incredibly high ceiling.

Keon Coleman, Florida State (@ Pitt)

If Johnny Wilson is out then Coleman is an auto play. Coleman has been great with Wilson out scoring more than 22 FD points in both of the recent games that Wilson missed. Coleman is a great receiver who is paired with an elite QB so if he is the top target for Florida State he will not disappoint you.

Bub Means, Pitt (vs Florida State)

Ever since Pitt changed QBs 3 weeks ago, Means has taken over as the WR1. Means has led the team in receiving in each of their last 3 games recording at least 60 yards in each game. Florida State should be leading this game for the majority of the game so Pitt will be passing a lot which will lead to solid production for Means. At just $6,200, Means is a terrific value and his exposure should be limited since he plays for Pitt so he could be a difference maker if he ends up with a solid game.

Jake Briningstool, Clemson (vs Notre Dame)

With Will Shipley banged up and a tough Notre Dame run defense on hand, Clemson will be forced to pass. Briningstool has taken over as the number 1 target in recent games and it has led to fruitful fantasy production. He has 90+ yards and 5+ catches in back to back games so he will be heavily relied upon this week so his usage alone makes him a great play at just $5,800.
