Slate Breaker: FD CFB DFS Week 6
Quarterbacks
Play of the Day: Garrett Shrader, Syracuse (@ North Carolina)
There is no reason for Shrader to still be under 10K. He has been productive as both a passer and runner in every game except for last week against a tough Clemson defense. He has at least 14 points from passing alone in 4 of his 5 games and at least 9 points from his rushing alone in 3 of 5 games. He has a floor above 20 points with a ceiling well above 30. Until Schrader's price passes the 10K marker, he is a worthwhile play regardless of opponent.
Jayden Daniels, LSU (@ Missouri)
Jayden Daniels has officially cemented himself as the top fantasy QB in the entire country. He has always been one of the top rushing QBs in the country but it has been his improvement as a passer that has made him the top of the top. After throwing for just 208 yards per game a year ago, he has exploded this year averaging a ridiculous 342 yards through the air. It may sound crazy but his floor is at 30 points right now. Even at the highest price on slate, he is worth every penny.
Shedeur Sanders, Colorado (@ Arizona State)
Let's just throw out the Oregon game. The O line was clearly outmatched so expecting any kind of real production out of Sanders was a little bit unreasonable. In his 4 other games he is averaging 406 yards and 4 TDs a game. That is a 32 point average and with a matchup against a weak Arizona State team, I expect much of the same. Colorado does not run the ball well so even if they get up big they should still be passing the ball. Sanders is as safe of a play as you can get on this slate.
Dillon Gabriel, Oklahoma (@ Texas)
This play boils down to one question, do you believe that this Oklahoma offense is for real? If so, Gabriel is one of the best plays at a discounted price in this rough road matchup. Gabriel is a great passer with 300+ passing yards in 4/5 games while also being the team's top option on the goal line with 4 rushing TDs this season. I do expect this Texas line to give the Oklahoma pass protection fits so I am not as bold in this matchup. Texas has only allowed one passer to pass for 250+ yards and one passer to pass for multiple TDs and they are both Jalen Milroe, but Texas is yet to face a QB anywhere close to as talented as Gabriel. Gabriel is usually a safe play but he finds himself in a boom or bust position this week.
Drake Maye, North Carolina (vs Syracuse)
Maye has to push past the 30 point threshold at some point this season, so why not this week? This Syracuse defense has not been challenged through the air all season, but they have still been torn apart by mediocre QBs like Hudson Card. Maye should have no issues dealing with this unit especially with his new top target Tez Walker debuting this week. Maye is a very safe play having scored at least 19.26 points in every game and we know he has a high ceiling from his play last year, he just has not hit that mark yet this year.
Sam Hartman, Notre Dame (@ Louisville)
Hartman has not revolutionized the Notre Dame offense like many expected, but he has not been bad. He has had two tough matchups against Ohio State and Duke, two good defenses, but before that he was great. In his first three games this year, he threw for 289 yards per game and scored 4 TDs in each of them. With a Louisville defense that has nowhere near the talent that the previous two defenses that Notre Dame faced had, expect Hartman to get back to that early season form and put up a respectable line.
Running Backs
Play of the Day: TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State (vs Maryland)
Henderson looks to be back to his freshman form and more importantly he is dominating the RB shares for this potent Ohio State offense. Henderson has 28 touches over the last two weeks and the next closest OSU RB has 12. That is elite usage in an elite offense. Ohio State always dominates Maryland on the ground with Henderson himself finding success against this team with 102 yards and 2 TDs his freshman year. Henderson is locked into a big day on the ground this week.
Quinshon Judkins, Ole Miss (vs Arkansas)
It was only a matter of time until Judkins returned to his freshman form. He did so in a big way with a monster day in their upset over LSU a week ago with 181 yards and 2 TDs. It may sound ridiculous if you did not watch him a year ago, but this is the norm for Judkins. In 6 of his 8 SEC games a year ago, Judkins ran for 100+ AND at least one TD and one of the games he did not do it in was a blowout win over Vanderbilt. As we get deeper into the season he is locked into a good game regardless of opponent. a matchup against Arkansas has the makings for a juicy matchup as Judkins and then teammate Zach Evans both rushed for more than 200 yards and a TD a piece in this game a year ago. Judkins is going to score 15+ points and his ceiling is as high as any RB on this slate.
Devin Neal, Kansas (vs UCF)
After a blistering start to the season, Neal has slowed down a bit over the past couple weeks. One of those games was against Texas's vaunted front so the lack of production can be forgiven. This week he is in line for a monster day. He gets a UCF front that has been vulnerable over the last month. In 3 of their last 4 games, UCF has allowed three 100 yard runners and in two of those games, the opponent's lead back topped 200 yards. Neal is one of the most talented backs in the country so he will thrive against this defensive front.
Logan Diggs, LSU (@ Missouri)
Diggs has entrenched himself as the lead back for this potent LSU offense. His opportunity has only been increasing by the week which culminated in a 21 touch game against Ole Miss that led to 25.3 FD points. All other backs only accounted for 3 touches a week ago. Diggs is THE guy so being able to get a workhorse back under 8K is a tremendous value.
Cam Skattebo, Arizona State (vs Colorado)
I have to be honest, I do not completely believe in this play but his usage has been absurd. He has had over half of the team's touches in each of the past two games, you are not going to find a skill player with higher usage. If he continues to account for half of the team's offense against a weak Colorado defense, a bountiful fantasy day awaits him.
Anthony Hankerson, Colorado (@ Arizona State)
This is a risky play because the Colorado RB rotation is always changing. For the time being, it looks like Hankerson is atop the RB rotation after he carried the ball 16 times for 74 yards and a TD against USC. Colorado should win this game fairly easily so there should be enough RB carries for at least one Colorado RB to be a solid play. If Hankerson ends up with the most touches in this game, he is well worth his $6,100 price.
Wide Receivers
Play of the Day: Luther Burden III, Missouri (vs LSU)
I do not want to hear anything about Marvin Harrison or the LSU duo, this is the top fantasy receiver in the country. With Brady Cook actually being allowed to throw the ball down the field this year, Burden has taken off. He gets 10+ targets every game and just cannot be tackled by a cornerback leading him to be a YAC monster. Burden has more than 15 points in every game and if this game turns into a shootout, he has 30+ maybe even 40+ potential. You cannot go wrong with Burden this week or any week.
Devontez Walker, North Carolina (vs Syracuse)
It happened! The NCAA finally stopped fooling around and let Walker play. Walker was touted as the top offensive weapon for UNC for the entirety of the offseason. Aside from a random blowup game from Nate McCollum, UNC has been lacking a true WR1. Look for Walker to step right in as he has been practicing with the team even though he was not playing in game so he should be game ready despite the long layoff. UNC will look to send a message to the NCAA and feature Walker to make up for lost time. I love him at just 5K.
Omarion Miller, Colorado (@Arizona State)
This may make me look very foolish but I am buying into the hype. How can you not? He played a half of football and garnered 8 targets which he turned into a 7/196/1 line. Colorado has been in desperate need of a third WR to pair with Weaver and Horn following Hunter's injury. Well it looks like Miller may be the guy as he was always open and almost single handedly completed the comeback. At $6,500, Miller does not need to put up a monster line again to worth his price, he just needs to be involved. Make sure you check his availability before the game because CU did plan to redshirt him this year, so he might end up sitting out.
Malik Nabers & Brian Thomas Jr., LSU (@ Missouri)
I should not need to explain this one. Both of these guys have been awesome this year. They both average more than 100 yards per game and are a near lock to catch at least one TD each and every game. Missouri is one of better defenses they have faced this year but they should still succeed regardless. They do cannibalize each other's production, but with how Jayden Daniels has been throwing the ball, there is enough to go around. While expensive, if this game turns into a blowout I love stacking one of these guys with Luther Burden.
Tre Harris, Ole Miss (vs Arkansas)
This guy is DYNAMIC. He is a home run threat every time he touches the ball. In just 2 and a half games, Harris has 6 TDs. That is 6 TDs on just 16 catches. Obviously that is a bit lucky and he will not continue to score on 37.5% of his catches, but when he gets the ball in his hands the whole defense better watch out. He is finally healthy and will now slot in as the WR1 of what is a very competitive Ole Miss WR room. If you are looking for a guy with a huge ceiling then look no further than Harris.
Mitchell Evans, Notre Dame (@ Louisville)
Evans looked to have finally stepped into the ever valuable Notre Dame TE1 position. Tight End superstars have come from that position in this offense, I am not saying Evans will be a superstar but he has been productive over the past few weeks and should continue to be. Evans has received 7+ targets in back to back weeks and while some of that increased opportunity is a result of other injured pass catchers; if those injured players return, his opportunities should not drop off too much with how productive he has been.
Kobe Hudson, UCF (@ Kansas)
This is only a play if Timmy McClain remains the QB another week. He has shown the ability to throw a great deep ball which pairs perfectly with someone of Hudson's talents. Hudson has shown great chemistry with McClain already with 2 of their 3 games together leading Hudson to top 135 yards. If John Rhys Plumlee returns, Hudson is still a decent play; but this turns into more of a run first offense with Plumlee at the helm which really hurts Hudson's ceiling.
