Sam Houston State vs Liberty

The plays in this game seem pretty obvious. Liberty is the clear cut leader of this conference. They have a solid offense and the best defense outside of the Power 5 conferences. So to put it simply, avoid Sam Houston. You are going to want to have pieces of this Liberty offense, specifically the run game. Their QB, Kaidon Salter, is a great dual threat QB with a proclivity to find the endzone with 16 TDs over his first four games. He is a must play. The production in the RB room is a bit harder to predict with a true split between Quinton Cooley and Billy Lucas. Quinton Cooley has been getting the majority of the work out of the backfield but he is a smaller back leading him to get taken off the field in the redzone. Billy Lucas has not been getting as much work as Cooley but he still gets a decent share of the workload and the ever valuable goal line work. Both should be fairly solid plays so the edge goes to whoever finds the endzone. Even though this Liberty offense prefers to run the ball, they usually have at least one receiver go off each game. The question is whether it will be Treon Sibley or CJ Daniels. Daniels is more of the big play threat whereas Sibley is the true top target so if you want a safe floor go with Sibley but if you want to shoot for the stars then Daniels is your guy. It is best to avoid Sam Houston players, but if you have to put one of them in your lineup then go with WR Noah Smith or RB John Gentry but both will likely disappoint.

Western Kentucky vs Louisiana Tech

I am very conflicted by this game. Louisiana Tech is the worst run defense in the country so when they are playing on a slate, their opponents RBs are usually an easy start. The issue though is this Western Kentucky RB situation is worrisome. WKU loves to pass the ball. They have had one RB get double digits carries throughout the whole season and their lead back seems to change week to week. There is a definite chance that one of the WKU backs has a good day but it will be hard to figure out who and it is better to avoid the group altogether and focus on the passing attack. The passing attack is easy to project as Austin Reed and Malachi Corley are two of the top producers at their position and are must plays whenever they take the field. It is also not a bad decision to throw another WKU receiver in your lineup with how much this team likes to pass the ball. If you can afford Easton Messer, he is a solid play as he seems locked into the WR2 role which has led to double digit points in 3 of his past 4 games. If you need salary relief, then plug in Dalvin Smith. Smith is the second most talented receiver on this team but he is still coming back from injury. He has enough talent to be productive even if he is limited, and they love him in the redzone thanks to his big frame. For the LT side of this game you need Tyre Shelton in your lineup. Western Kentucky cannot stop RBs with their opponent's lead back topping at least 13 FD points in every game and have allowed monster 20+ point games to opposing rushers in 3 of their 5 games. LT's other top backs may return this game but Shelton should still remain atop the pecking order. The LT receivers is a little more complex as Smoke Harris has been the guy but that was in large part thanks to Kyle Maxwell and Koby Duru's absences. If the latter two are back Smoke Harris is not worth his price and Maxwell/Duru become great values so make sure you check who is dressed before kickoff. Regardless of who is playing QB for LT, they have not been very productive throughout the season so it is best to avoid them especially with Salter and Reed available on this slate.
