Slate Breaker: FD NFL TNF DFS Week 2
TNF Breakdown
Minnesota Vikings vs Philadelphia Eagles
Both these teams did not live up to their lofty expectations in Week 1 with the Vikings dropping their home opener to the Bucs and the Eagles barely squeaking by the Patriots. Both these teams will have their foot on the gas to prove last week was a fluke and they both belong among the league's elite offenses so expect a high scoring game. One a single game slate, the highly valuable MVP 1.5X slot can be an agonizing decision, but this week it seems to be down to just two guys. The Eagles and Vikings offenses are predicated on two players, Jalen Hurts and Justin Jefferson. I like Hurts for the MVP slot because he is a lock for at least 20 points with a 40 point ceiling, and Jefferson just does not have that kind of range. Jefferson should be a lock in your lineup though because he will be featured in this offense and with James Bradberry likely out, Jefferson's fantasy forecast is looking bright. Kirk Cousins, AJ Brown and Devonta Smith are all fine options but they are fairly expensive so fitting them in your lineup with both Hurts and Jefferson will be nearly impossible so they are good options if you want to get off the chalk but they are likely to disappoint compared to Hurts or Jefferson. Kenny Gainwell is likely not playing in this game creating a Eagle RB conundrum. One of the Eagles backs, D'Andre Swift, Boston Scott, or Rashaad Penny will have a good game, the question is just who? D'Andre Swift is by far the most talented of the three, Boston Scott has been entrenched in this organization for years so you would think it should be one of those two. But if you know anything about the Eagles, you should always go with the most illogical decision when predicting RB usage so Rashaad Penny is my guy. I understand I will probably lose with him but I love the other four plays I want in my lineup so Penny is the guy I am forcing into my lineup and hoping for the best. Speaking of the rest of my lineup, I love the Tight Ends in this game. The Eagles made Hunter Henry look like the second coming of Gronk a week ago as they routinely lost him in coverage. Hunter Henry is an average Tight End so just imagine what a player like TJ Hockenson can do. Hock was a target monster a week ago so this is an absolute smash play this week and he is just $10,000 so get this man in your lineup. Dallas Goedert scared a lot of people away with a goose egg in Week 1, but expect him and the Eagles playcallers to correct that trend this week. The Vikings struggled covering Goedert in this same matchup a year ago, leading the TE to finish as the Eagles leading pass catcher with 5 catches for 82 yards. Goedert's goose egg only stands to benefit us DFS players since it allowed his price to drop below 10K. I am not a huge fan of the Vikings kicker or defense since they will probably be losing, but the Eagles Kicker and Defense could end up having nice fantasy days if the Vikings are not able to hang with the Eagles.
