Detroit Lions vs Green Bay Packers

From the top, I like both of these QBs a lot. Both of these teams pass around 55% of the time and have their top RB banged up with their status in doubt. Jordan Love has looked like the stronger of the two QBs to start the season as he has been great in the redzone. Love already has 8 TDs through 3 games and he has nice little buff with his rushing yards adding another 1-3 points on the ground. Jared Goff has not found the endzone as often as Love, but he has a solid passing baseline as he is almost a lock to top 250 yards each and every game so if can end up with multiple scores he will be a very solid play. Given Love's proclivity to find the endzone, I like Love for my MVP 1.5x slot. I think it is a bit early for David Montgomery to return to the lineup given the type of injury he has, so if he is active tomorrow there will be no way he will be in his usual role, making Jahmyr Gibbs the de facto lead back. Gibbs is a very explosive play but has not had his breakout game yet. The Packers allowed the 9th most FD points to RBs a year ago so if Gibbs is given the lead role this can be the game he breaks out. I am a little trepidatious about this Packer backfield. Aaron Jones is most likely back, but what kind of role will he take on? I like Jones more than AJ Dillon, but the passing game is the part of the offense I am far more interested in. The Lions pass catchers have a bevy of solid fantasy options. Josh Reynolds is a big redzone target, but his yardage is lacking so he is more of a ceiling play with no real floor. It is Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta who I find the most intriguing. Both are locked into 7+ targets with multiple plays drawn up just for them each game. The Packers pass catchers situation is in flux at the moment. Christian Watson is returning, meaning the target distribution will be a little unpredictable. Romeo Doubs should not lose too much work to Watson, but he may no longer be the top target making it hard to know what his floor really is, but after getting multiple redzone looks to start the season, Doubs has the potential to end up with a solid line. It is Jayden Reed who will be the most negatively affected by Watson's return, they play the same role so Reed will not be seeing the field a lot so do not put him in your lineup. Luke Musgrave is the safest pass catcher for the Packers. He is locked into the Tight End role and that was the main way the Packers attacked the Lions through the air a year ago with Packers TEs finishing with 18.8 FD points. I expect this to be a relatively high scoring game so neither of the Defenses are viable options unless they score. The Kickers could be solid but both of these teams have been able to convert their drives into TDs instead of FGs so there is some risk with them.

Dream Team

QB Jordan Love (MVP 1.5X)

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown

RB Jahmyr Gibbs

TE Sam LaPorta

TE Luke Musgrave
