Slate Breaker: FD NFL DFS TNF Week 3
New York Giants vs San Francisco 49ers
When strategizing for this game, it should be obvious how your builds should look; one Giant and 4 Niners. The Niners are going to dominate this game from the jump as the Giants have played 8 quarters of sloppy football and the Niners have been near perfect to start the season. Let's start with the Giants. The Niners defense is a tough fantasy matchup for almost every position ranking in the top 6 of limiting fantasy points to QBs, RBs, and TEs; but there is one position the Niners are bad against, WR. Last year the 49ers allowed the sixth most fantasy points to WRs so I like Darius Slayton a lot on this slate. Sure Darren Waller and Parris Campbell get a lot of targets, but most of those come close to the line so they will not have a reliable yardage total to fall back on so they will need to find the end zone in order to be worthy plays. Matt Breida should also be a decent play just from his usage alone and at $11,000, he is very affordable for a feature back. On the niners side, everyone is in play as the niners love getting creative especially in the redzone, but Christian McCaffrey needs to be in your lineups. CMC is the lifeblood of this offense and the Giants are bad against the run allowing Pollard to score 21.2 FD points in Week 1 and 16.6 to Conner in Week 2. CMC has been featured to start the year and with a juicy matchup against the Giants, he needs to not only be in your lineup but he is the best choice for your MVP 1.5X slot. The only other Niner you need in your lineup is the 49ers D/ST. The Giants' O line has looked like a mess to start the year and a defensive front like 49ers should get to Daniel Jones early and often giving this D/ST a floor right around 10 points, if you are crazy I do not hate the idea of throwing the Niners D into your MVP slot with the Giants being so turnover prone. With Brandon Aiyuk being banged up all week, I like the other pass catchers Deebo Samuel and George Kittle. But with no true number 1 pass catcher, deploying Brock Purdy ahead of either of those two would be the safer play. The Giants should struggle to punch the ball into the endzone making Graham Gano a fair play. And the Niners should score a lot making Jake Moody a decent usage play.
Dream Team
Christian McCaffrey (MVP 1.5X)
Darius Slayton
Brock Purdy
George Kittle
49ers D/ST
