Slate Breaker: FD CFB DFS Week 3 (Thur)

Bethune-Cookman vs Miami

It should be obvious which side of this matchup you should be targeting. With two obvious winning teams on this slate, your QB and Flex slots should be occupied by the winning QBs so be ready to fire up Tyler Van Dyke. For the skill players of this one, all the Miami players have value but an injury in the Miami backfield does make me want to limit my exposure to Mark Fletcher Jr.; and with Donald Chaney and Ajay Allen taking a backseat a week ago, Henry Parrish Jr. seems like the easy play. The Miami receivers are harder to delineate so you cannot really go wrong Jacolby George, Colbie Young or Xavier Restrepo but it is Jacolby George who looks to be the top dog but the difference between the three is not much and all three could end up with solid lines. On the BC side, I do not feel comfortable with any of these guys in my lineup but if I had to choose one it would be Decarri Allen-Johnson since he seems to have some kind of baseline usage but do not get your hopes up because he will most likely end up with less than 5 points.

Navy vs Memphis

Fire up your Memphis boys. Seth Henigan needs to be in your lineup no matter what, he will be the slate's top scoring QB. The Memphis running game is not their strongest asset and it is a bit of a committee but Blake Watson will still be productive. Will he be productive enough to warrant his $10,000 price tag? That seems like a bit of a stretch so I will be fading Watson a bit, but he is the only Memphis RB you can expect a respectable baseline out of. Joseph Scates is the Memphis receiver that you have to have in your lineup. After returning from injury a week ago, he was eased back into the WR1 role and immediately produced 49 yards and a TD. In what should be a more competitive game, Scates will be needed and relied on more so his fantasy production should only go up. Demeer Blankumsee and Tauskie Dove present good options to fill out your lineup but they both have only been productive as a result of big plays so it is a bit of a coin flip between the two but at least one of them should be productive. Needing at least one player from the losing teams, I would suggest putting a Navy player in your lineup over a BC player. QB Tai Lavatai does seem like a good option but using him would take one of the two winning QBs out of your lineup which is not a concession I would make especially when Lavatai scored a passing and rushing TD in this same matchup a year ago and still put up less than 18 points so the ceiling just is not there to make him a worthy addition into your lineup. It is the Navy backs that I would put into my lineup. Daba Fofana is the top rusher for this team but he is usually limited to inside runs and does not rack up a lot of yardage so you would need a TD from him to be worth a start. It is Brandon Chatman who piques my interest on this team, he get similar rushing usage to Fofana while also getting a couple targets in the game so I like his reduced price and diverse usage to provide a nice floor at the very least.
